I know that this has been a problem of many bloggers out there. These suggestions are great. I think having a Disqus comment form is also effective because you only see the comments when logged in.

On the matter of comment spam, do yourselves a favor and get Comment SPAM Wiper. It is the new kid in town that is cooler than the rest. It automatically detect spam comments without using captcha or questions that bug and annoy the users. Cheers.

If we go according to the comparison table then, I think WordPress has allover much more facilities and I do regularly use on my smart-phone.

As WordPress is user-friendly and easy to use anywhere whether it is computer or laptops and compatible too.

I was about ready to take the Tumblr plunge for my radio program (mybmedia.com). At first, the 10MB audio file limit stopped me, but they offer the ability to link to an outside audio host; right now I’m using Mixcloud. However, their Flash audio player doesn’t work on my iPad, so I’m still searching for the ideal solution.

Great comparison!!! I’m trying to decide between wordpress and blogger and after reading a lot of comparisons I think this yours is the first objective one. By the way, now I think blogger is the platform that would suit my needs better. Thanks for sharing

I need to get the custom field, which is a youtube link and insert it into the shortcode [youtube]youtube link[/youtube]. I can’t seem to get this to work after placing it into my single.php. and modifying the cfield. It just comes up as [youtube]youtube link[/youtube]. I need to be able to open and close the youtube link with the shortcode.

You are entering shortcode in the code itself. That is wrong. Use shortcode in the custom field’s value. And custom field’s name in place of [gallery].

This is not the only problem that Tumblr has, it has other problems too. But they have great email support for issues.
