Sunday..oops Link Love Series No 7

I seem to be getting good at missing deadlines. This Sunday was no excuse either. Ok..not getting into that, here’s a recap of what’s happened in the last week.

  1. Seems Jason from TheUniversityKid is still finding trouble selling his site. Even after a relist, it has not met the reserve. I wonder where’s the problem when recently SlyVisions got sold for $9,500 which was a utter shock and even a very high price according to me.
  2. Everybody knows about the contest of winning Ninja Affiliate plugin running here. But if you can’t wait that long or don’t think you have that much luck, then before Friday Midnight, you can get the plugin for a amazing $50 Discount! So buy now to save a lot. This offer is only till Friday midninght. So you have only around 2 days to avail the offer. If you want to know more, read my review of the plugin.
  3. Windows Live Writer 2009 is out. It includes Multiple Image Upload, Tag Suggest(this is somehow not working for me), Search All Posts, Photo Gallery feature, direct upload of videos to youtube and lots more. If you want to know more head over to my review.
  4. Noupe came out with a Nice List of Some cool features of Wordpress 2.7. Hell, I also learnt one new thing out of them too. I thought, I knew it all.
  5. 200 GPL Themes removed from Wordpress.org Extend Area. Read some of the reports about it. Unless Matt himself clears the controversies officially, it seems to be the beginning of a never ending debate.
  6. Mashable has finally announced the Open Web Awards 2008 Winners. Check out what’s hot and what’s not in blogging and web!
  7. Lastly a resource filled post. If you are a designer and is looking for a wordpress theme for showing your portfolio effectively, head to this post by WPhacks which has a list of portfolio based wordpress themes.

So that’s all in this week’s roundup of link love. Till the next, happy blogging.

    Hey there,

Nice list. I’m also trying to understand how one can pay up to $9500 for slyvisions.

    I don’t understand.

    Navjot,

I like how you did the links for #5 “Read some of the reports about it” text. Very creative :) . Also, thank you for linking my post!

You see that’s what I hate about Open Source. There are big business brains making money behing the name of GPL. I too have a theme in there.

Firefox is an excellent example of an OS project. They have allowed contribution and have never made discretion on the basis of things like links etc as far as the addon is safe.

I too have a theme in the Wordpress directory and it is still listed. However I just don’t care now.

The current bid is 5000$ and that is a Huge amount for Jason.. His traffic is shocking (Just 11k visits per month) and he earns money by referring ppl to his book and hostgator.. !

I am thinking to sell my blog too :D
