Title seemed tempting? Sure it is but I assure you that the post is worth the title. 
Many people forget the easiest method to get a good amount of backlinks which is a forum. Yes any forum which is related to your site’s niche is a great source of some strong and valuable backlinks.
There are several ways of promoting your site using a forum which are:
- Website Link on your Profile - Most forums have option of giving your website’s link in your profile. Use that option always. It may not give you traffic, but gives you backlink. You don’t have to actively post on forums to get that backlink, just join a forum and put your website’s link there.
- Forum Signatures - Forum Signatures form the most important part in getting backlinks from a forum. It is more beneficial than website profile link because you can promote more than one site in your signature. You can even buy signatures of active members on any number of forums. Such sales are prominent on Digitalpoint.com Forums and Namerpos.com Forums.
But beware, these things come at a price. So never spam the forums with your site’s links and follow the rules of the forums. You don’t want to get yourself banned on forums, right? And never promote affiliate links this way because 99% forums have it in their rule to disallow affiliate links promoted unless specifically allowed by a forum.
Add these too - dummy blog on Blogger(it scores best in SEO) and MySpace(hundreds of techie teens will check out your blog).
Also, email signatures and guest blogs are helpful.

Those are helpful tips! Now, where does one find all the time to participate in forums, comment on blogs, submit your link to link directories, create more content.. oh well, sleep is overrated..

I’ve recently been getting a lot of hits off of my signature at a forum; but the other benefit there is that the other bloggers in that same forum have been adding me to their blogrolls once they saw my site in my signature; and I’m now also getting hits from those!
