Well there are people who make good sites, make efforts in starting but somehow loose interest afterwards maybe in hope of some passive income but the fact is that one must work constantly towards improving your site because this process never stops. A site can never be 100% perfect that you will stop working on it. One classic example of such a site is Web Hosting Information.
The site looks promising but I failed to find the reason that why after June 2006, even people stopped coming back to site. Ok apart from not updated it do have some good points. It has a large collection of articles related to web hosting of which these I found a good read:
- Web Hosting Information’s Guide to Reseller Hosting
- Benefits of Private Domain Name Registration
- What You Need to Know to Run a Dedicated Server - Part I
- The Basics of Running a Dedicated Server
- How to Sell Your Domain Name
Site has a good number of hosts reviewed like Dreamhost, Godaddy, Hostgator and LunarPages . But it missed several good hosts like Siteground and Yahoo! Web Hosting. It needs to get reviews about lot more hosts. One thing which i don’t like about its categorising of Hosting companies is that they don’t have any category. You will have to use their search bar to view hosts. You can’t list all hosts which offer dedicated hosting or vps hosting. Their is no such categorisation on these types of criteria.
Regarding the design aspect, it is good but red color seems to be overdone and too dark to eyes. It should have been reduced so that it puts less strain on eyes.
Screenie:
Also it offers PodCasts and Web Hosting News but they were last updated around June-July 2006 and never done after that which is not good. It also has a section named In your corner which offers to solve disputes between customers and hosting companies which is a very good initative but again the lack of site update made it unusable. I think the site owner needs to work hard to revive content and work again so that site can gain some value in the webhosting review industry.

Most of these guys are paid for reviews. What makes you think they are different?
Also, is this a paid post?
“The process never stops”… you know, I had a friend who was complaining that he didn’t get a lot of traffic. When was the last time he put something new on his site? Six months ago! So, I asked him: “If you knew of a TV station that had the same thing on every single day for six months, would you waste your time with that TV station?”
He understood what I said.
How much for a review on your site I am wondering? The site I would like a review on is http://www.thedevnetwork.com
Yes Techzilo, this is a paid review.
And Dev - I replied to you via email. Please check the email.
I would definitely say that not updating your site is a big turn off! If I go to a new site that I like and they take to long to update, I just remove them from my favorites folder and out they go.
