I heard of dupicate sites, clone sites but this one’s something unique. Heard of a parody site? Well for me, I was a bit shocked to visit JohnCow.com (Its not JohnChow.com - Famous Money Making Blog At first I thought maybe JohnChow changed his header image but then found its a site just exact copy of original and is a type of parody of original.
It is a fun site, with most of the posts as comedy alternatives from original blog. And it seems JohnChow effect is working for him, since he has got over 120 members of his mybloglog community and got around 2500 unique visitors in just 7 days. For generating visitors he also made a post at Sitepoint marketplace pretending to sell his site just to generate curiosity. He also receives major traffic through typos as well.
Well I would call this a excellent strategy to start a blog as a controversy or something about very popular. Want to make a new blog, you can sure try this idea unless the original author doesn’t mind.

There is another reason to visit his blog. Get free milk from his blog is a contest on JohnCow’s site. Well who knows you could be the one to get milk worth 100$!!

I’ve been reading JohnCow.com since he started it, most of the posts have been great, quite humorous. He is off to a great start I think.
